The software is awesome. You can do back test. The transactions are smooth. If you need help the help desk is available. Not too shabby except they charge $14.00 a trade to sell and buy. My only complaint.

I have being trading the stock market for about 4 years. OptionsXpress is very easy to use and convenient. I will not ever leave OptionsXpress trading platform. Placing options order are simple and easy. The interaction is set up very well, scrolling through the different section is well put together.

I've been experiencing the system crash like 4 out of 10 times. The tech support makes it seem like the problem is my computor. First thing any one tech I talk to tells me to is update JAVA, remove all cookies, use the latest version of ADOBE and remove the other. When nothing helps they want me to install Firefox. Reeaaally!!! really!!. How did this broker get Barron's high ratings. Now that is the Question.

Been using it for 9 years. Love the contingent order feature where you can place an order based on market behavior.
Had one hiccup during an FOMC trading session in '08 where the chart lagged behind the market by a few minutes due to high volume. They have since put in new charts to fix it. Good techs.

OptionsXpress is very good at "buying in".
This is when the stock starts going down and your short position starts giving you money - they will execute "buy-in". They will buy to cover your short position and pocket the gains as the stock goes down. They will say it is "industry practice". But OptionsXpress uses this loophole for their advantage EXCESSIVELY! They ripped me off $40000!
Be aware!

I have not done too many trades but oX has been great for what I have done. Reasonable rates for trades, good customer service, I've had no problems.
